🎖️Product · Honors

Honors planning that fits how gabbaim already work.

Plan ahead, share with families, confirm in writing, print cards.

Honors are the most relationship-heavy part of running Saturday morning. Most synagogues track them on a clipboard, in email threads, and in someone's head. MyBimah Honors gives gabbaim a workspace that mirrors the real flow: plan dates weeks in advance, share a single link with families, capture acceptances and declines, sync the result back to the run-of-service automatically.

Date-by-date planning, weeks ahead

Each upcoming Shabbat is a planning date with honor slots auto-generated from your default template. Edit slots in advance, add multiple honorees per slot for couples or families, attach occasion notes (Bat Mitzvah, Yahrzeit, Aufruf), and watch a fill-rate bar tell you exactly what's still open.

  • Default templates per service type — Shabbat Morning, RH Day 1, Yom Kippur Morning
  • Multi-honoree slots: couples on the same aliyah, family Neilah closings, group readings
  • Occasion + reader fields per slot, threaded into the printed honor card
  • Filter pills: All, Needs Attention, Shared, Linked to service

Share links — generic by design

One copy-paste link per planning date, reusable for families, event organizers, choir directors, group leads. The recipient sees only the slots you've shared, can edit honoree names, request additional honors, and mark the plan committed when ready.

  • Tokenized URL — no auth required, works on any device
  • Locking control: open for editing, then lock when finalized
  • Family adds new honoree → coordinator approves → slot fills
  • Generic copy throughout: "share link" not "family link" — works for any audience
AA shares one link per Shabbat. Families, B'nei Mitzvah parents, group leads — same link, same workflow.

Click-through confirmations

Honoree gets an email with a one-click accept / decline link. They land on a confirmation page showing the prayer, page reference, arrival time, role notes — then click. The state machine tracks sent → opened → accepted / declined / superseded so the gabbai sees exactly where every honor stands.

  • Public confirm URL — middleware-allowlisted, no auth
  • State machine: sent → opened (set on first GET) → accepted / declined / expired / superseded
  • Honor history rollup: every accepted honor stamped to the honoree's profile for last-honored lookup
  • Coordinator can supersede with a fresh send when reassigning

Printable honor cards

Per-honor print cards with the prayer name, page reference, honoree name (with Hebrew when set), arrival time, instructions, and any tenant-customizable boilerplate. Print to single cards, a booklet, or use the PDF as a slide on the bimah TV.

  • Honor instruction templates per (template × honor code × subtype) — set once, applied automatically
  • Per-tenant boilerplate ("please arrive 5 minutes before your aliyah")
  • Three print formats: single card, booklet, slide-only
  • PDF generation via Puppeteer — Hebrew renders in Frank Ruhl Libre

Bidirectional sync with the run-of-service

Plan an aliyah on the honors planner, save, and the linked service order picks it up automatically. Edit honorees on the service editor and the planning slot reflects the change. Honor history populates as confirmations land.

  • Match-by-label slot sync — works even when row order shifts
  • Per-honor stamping on accept: honor_history table + honoree profile
  • Last-honor badge in the picker: "Bonnie Levine — last accepted Maftir 4 months ago"
  • Multi-slot per row support: Hagbah + Gelilah on one prayer, both honorees tracked separately

High Holiday workspace

Phase-aware planning for the densest week of the year. Tab strip per HH service, bulk-select to send confirmations, download all honor cards as a single PDF. Excluded from the main Shabbat portal so the day-to-day flow stays focused.

  • RH Day 1 / Day 2, Kol Nidrei, Yom Kippur Morning, Mincha + Neilah — each a tab
  • 5-Sefer Kol Nidrei choreography with rotating Torah carriers tracked
  • AA-imported 5786 honor history backfilled (155 honors, 134 placeholder users created)
  • Group aliyot blocks: Malchuyot / Avodah / Martyrology each as a coordinated set
